Day Two Hundred and Eighty Four.

Every weekend that I don't work goes by really fast but this one really went by even faster than usual, in my opinion! When my boyfriend and I woke up Saturday morning we still had a handful of things to get done before my family started arriving for the BBQ at his parents camp. After we showered he actually got a ride from his Father to pick up one of his cars from the dealership but then he swept the entire house when he got back. I took the time to empty the dishwasher and make the glaze for the carrot cake. My boyfriend also changed all of the sheets on the beds so they would be ready for my family members who were staying at his house. My twin sister and her husband arrived at my boyfriends house a little bit before 12pm and after we showed them the house we headed to the camp.
I held the carrot cake the whole car ride but it's not a big deal because it's less than a 10 minute drive. My boyfriends Brother and girlfriend were at the camp when we arrived, as well as his parents, but none of my family members yet. I was actually glad that we beat everyone because it would have been rude to not have been there when they arrived. Second to arrive was my oldest sister and her husband around 1pm, followed by my second to oldest sister and her husband at some point after 2pm. My parents finally showed up around 3pm. When they got there we took the cooler down to the lake and spent the rest of the afternoon there. It was so much fun because the weather was perfect and we were able to swim. Most of us jumped off of the rope swing on the other side of the lake and spent a decent amount of time in the water.
The afternoon just flew by and before I knew it we were eating dinner. There was a lot to eat including: chicken kabobs, steak kabobs, hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw (made by my Mother), broccoli salad (made by my oldest sister), potato salad (made by my boyfriends Father), macaroni salad, and spinach and strawberry salad (made by my boyfriends Father). I feel like there's probably something I'm forgetting but everything was wonderful. I did fail to mention that when my second to oldest sister arrived she brought guacamole and it was fantastic. She makes the only guacamole that I can eat and I can't get enough of it! After dinner we sung happy Birthday to my boyfriend then we had dessert. Along with my carrot cake we also had toffee candy as well as cinnamon sugar pretzels, which my twin sister made. The toffee candy is so amazing and addicting....I'm eating some now:) Oh yeah and my boyfriends Father made strawberry rhubarb pie. Dessert was followed by a bon fire and a nice fireworks show. My oldest sister and her husband weren't staying over so they left shortly after the fireworks. The rest of the night my boyfriend and my twin sisters husband played us some music in the living room.
I was so tired when we got back to my boyfriends house that I passed out right out. This morning my boyfriend made my twin sister and her husband breakfast because they had to leave early; the rest of us were going to be having brunch back at the camp. Right before they left my boyfriend let everyone who wanted to drive his tractor:) It was really fun and I hadn't done it before so I am glad that I finally did! When we got back to the camp we had breakfast then went back down to the lake for a couple of hours. My second to oldest sister and I took the paddle boat out while our significant others followed us in the canoe. My second to oldest sister was the only one who got in the water today and she jumped off of the rope swing a couple of more times. Her and her husband left early this afternoon, followed by my boyfriends Brother and his girlfriend and then my parents.
I was very sad when everyone left but glad that everything about this weekend turned out so great. I decided instead of staying at my boyfriends to just come home because I have to be at work early tomorrow anyway. Once I got home I had time to put everything away and put a load of laundry in, prior to taking a shower. I didn't do a great job of suppressing my hand washing at my boyfriends house because I was cleaning, but I did pretty well at the camp. I try to remind myself that no one else is running to the sink to wash there hands, so I really shouldn't either. There's also something about outside dirt in the country that doesn't seem to bother me that much. It's really people germs that freak me out the most! Well I think I've written enough for tonight:)
