Today ended up being a very productive day off! Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of sleep last night because I went to bed too late and had to be at my car dealership by 10am, so I was a little tired all day. I was glad that I made it on time and as it turns out the check engine light was on because the hybrid battery had died. I'm very glad that it is still under warranty so it shouldn't cost me anything. I had enough time after that appointment to go home and grab my dog for her veterinary appointment at 1pm. She got a great bill of health and I was so proud of how well she did even after getting two vaccines! She is definitely feeling a little sore tonight but I think she'll be her normal self tomorrow. I picked her up two new toys and took her for a nice walk after the appointment to spoil her a little bit after the traumatic visit.
I didn't really want to do much housework today but somehow I ended up vacuuming the first floor of my house. I couldn't believe how much dust had accumulated since I last did it and I felt it would be so much easier if I just vacuumed instead of trying to individually wipe up the dust. I guess it has been since I took my Christmas tree down since I had last vacuumed, so it can't be that obsessive. After I was done with that I took a shower and realized just how exhausted I was. I figured I would have some time before my boyfriend arrived to take a bit of a nap since it was only around 3:45pm.
Ironically enough my boyfriend ended up arriving at my house shortly after I got out of the shower! It was because he had been in the city for work yesterday so when he got back in town today he didn't go back into work figuring if he did, he would be there all night. He still ended up being pretty busy with emails and text messages until the evening. I was so excited to see him so early but suggested we take a nap together! We ended up just catching up and organizing our evening. As much as I would have liked going out to dinner I'm glad we decided to cook something instead. I had a craving for some pasta with sausage so that is what we had. We also made a nice salad which is good because now I have salad for the rest of the week! I'm very glad that we didn't go out to eat because I think we do it too much and with Valentine's Day at the end of this week I figure we'll be going out at some point this weekend.
After all of the cleaning today as well as the running around in the cold, my hands might be more sore than they have been all winter. It doesn't help that I constantly forget to put gloves on when I go outside. It's going to be very cold the next few days so I'm going to try to bundle up! Alright, until later:)
