Even though my boyfriend and I woke up late today we still managed to do a lot today. We started by having some coffee! I was definitely feeling effects from going out last night so I was couch bound. Soon afterwards while my boyfriend and I were sitting on the couch the doorbell rang. I was very surprised and like usual almost 50% sure that I wasn't going to answer it but I am extremely glad I did because it ended up being a Valentine Edible Arrangement which my twin sister and her husband sent me:) I was so surprised and excited but unsure of what I had done to deserve such a wonderful present. I called my twin sister to thank her and she told me she sent it because I'm always so thoughtful and generous. It seriously brings tears to my eyes even writing that statement down because I am always my hardest critic, never thinking I do enough for anyone, so knowing that I at least make my twin sister happy gives myself a great amount of joy. I seriously can't get over how sweet the gesture was:)
After that excitement happened my boyfriend and I ended up exchanging Valentine presents. I let him open his up first! Due to his recent obsession with hot sauce I ended up getting him a cookbook about how to make several different hot sauce recipes as well as a "Make Your Own Hot Sauce" kit. He ended up being very excited about the present and because last year for Valentine's Day he made me a buffalo chicken pizza, he said he would make me one tomorrow with his own hot sauce creation:) I also got him a card and a heart box of chocolates. He doesn't like the fancy kind so I got him a mix kind with the popular mini chocolates....for example Snickers:) My presents were amazing, it's unbelievable how much my boyfriend knows me. He got me 24 peach roses, a box of cream filled chocolates from a local handmade chocolate factory, a Whitman's sampler, hand-made root beer barrels as well as a bottle of Korbel extra dry champagne:) If I had bought my own Valentine's Day presents they wouldn't have been that good.
We spend the rest of the day kind of lounging around which was a nice break from the usual. We went to a restaurant for dinner which I had last went to with my second to oldest sister the last time she visited me. It's a nice place to eat as well as reasonably priced. They had a special Valentine's Day menu which was perfect. I got French onion soup as well as the NY strip steak. For an appetizer we shared lobster and brie dumplings....they were amazing. My boyfriend got the lamb and we even got crème brulee for dessert. Once we got home we broke into the bottle of champagne my boyfriend had gotten me and watched the movie "Dallas Buyers Club", which I loved.
The only thing I got really obsessive about today was cleaning the floor downstairs because my boyfriend spilled beer on it last night. It really wasn't that much work because I used the Swiffer, plus I had been meaning to clean the floor so it was a nice push to get it done. Alright, that's it for now:)
